Strawberry Story

As long as I could remember, I have always loved the idea of giving & getting gifts from someone special. There is something magical that happens when you live your life in a place of appreciation and gratitude. Gift-giving becomes a gift in and of itself. There are few greater joys in my life than knowing that I am surrounded by people who would take the time to give a gift that is meaningful to only me. My father was a great gifter and a big inspiration to me.

When I was five years old, he gave me the perfect gift. What was inside the beautifully wrapped gift box was an adorable strawberry-shaped bag. It was whimsical and fun, and I couldn't have asked for a better gift for my kindergarten graduation. He showed me how giving a thoughtful gift can make someone smile and make them feel loved. Life is about creating those moments with people you love, and I want people to experience this feeling… every day.

When I opened the doors to Pink Olive in the East Village in 2007, I wanted it to be more than just an ordinary gift shop. It’s a creative place with a mission to inspire giving and beautiful living. After all, life is too short to not enjoy life’s special moments and “When you feel loved, you can do anything!”
